On May 1 the staff of Columbus State University's literary magazine, The Arden, will have their annual release party at the Smith-McCullers House.

 

On May 4, members of Ms. Fussell's Carson McCullers class will have a covered-dish end-of-semester party at the Smith-McCullers House.  In celebration of McCullers' use of food in her work, each student is to bring a dish mentioned in the work of McCullers.
 


On May 29, fifteen Columbus State University students,

accompanied by Ms. Fussell, will travel to New York City for a

month of cultural arts immersion, during which time they will

visit the Carson McCullers House in Nyack, New York.

 

 

August 13 and 14, 2004:  Carson McCullers, along with Shay

Youngblood and Augusta Evans-Wilson, will be the featured

writers at the Georgia Literary Festival, to be held in Columbus. 

The McCullers Center is involved in the planning of the Festival.
