Thursday, March 15 – 6:30 p.m. (Columbus Public Lib.) A Celebration of Carson McCullers for Women’s History Month . Dr. Courtney George, Director of the Carson McCullers Center, will speak on Carson’s life and work.
Thursday, March 22 – 6:30 p.m. (Columbus Public Lib.) Two lectures including:
Carson McCullers’ Columbus . A look at the historical context in which McCullers grew up – by Dr. Virginia Causey, CSU Professor of History.
“Carson’s Midtown: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” – by Anne King, Exec. Director of MidTown, Inc. Reception to follow.
Friday, March 23 -1:30 p.m.: English Department Faculty Lecture Series featuring Dr. Joe McCallus
Friday, March 23 - 7 p.m. : An Artbeat of Columbus Event: Arden Reading Tour featuring 6 of CSU's finest Creative Writing Students
Saturday, March 31 - 5 p.m. An Artbeat of Columbus Event: A Reading on the Eve of National Poetry Month featuring Brooke Champagne, Brock Guthrie, Chris Shipman, and Megan Volpert
Friday, April 6: Todd Boss (talk at 4 and reading at 7:30): a Georgia Poetry Circuit event with a reading by critically acclaimed Minnesota poet whose collections include Yellowrocket and the forthcoming Pitch.
Friday, April 20: New Plains Press presents a reading with the Alabama Mystics
Friday, April 27- 1:30 p.m.: English Department Faculty Lecture Series featuring Dr. Nick Norwood
